Consignment Terms.
The full agreement in plain English. A signed copy of these terms is part of every intake invoice.
Custody & Drop-Off
All items must be delivered by the seller to our Caledonia, NY property by appointment only. We do not pick up. At drop-off the seller receives a written intake invoice listing each item, condition, and the agreed asking price.
Commission
Commission is tiered against the final sale price: 20% on items selling for $1–$999, 15% on $1,000–$9,999, and 10% on $10,000 and up. There is no upfront seller fee.
Pricing & Markdowns
Asking prices are set together with the seller using market data. If an item sits, we will reach out about price adjustments. We will never reduce a listed price below the seller's agreed floor without written approval (text counts).
Payout Timing
Seller payout is issued after the buyer's payment has fully cleared our account. Commission and any agreed direct selling costs are deducted from the final sale price. Every payout is accompanied by a written consignor payout statement listing the item, sale price, deductions, and net amount.
Sale Method & As-Is
Items are sold as-is, where-is. We make a best effort to disclose known issues to buyers. We do not provide warranties on consigned items unless the seller explicitly authorizes one in writing.
Risk of Loss
Items on our lot are stored with reasonable care. Sellers acknowledge that consigned goods are not insured by Baylock Consignment Services against fire, theft, vandalism, or weather. Sellers may carry their own coverage if desired.
Proof of Ownership
For titled or registered items (and any item where ownership is reasonably in question) the seller must provide proof of ownership at intake. We will refuse intake without it.
Withdrawal by Seller
Items sold via auction may not be withdrawn. Only items listed on other platforms may be withdrawn by the seller, with 48 hours notice and after settling any agreed direct costs (e.g. listing fees, transport you asked us to arrange). Items already under a buyer hold or deposit cannot be withdrawn until that hold is released.
Abandoned / Unclaimed Items
If an item does not sell and the seller does not retrieve it within 60 days of written notice (text or email), the item is deemed abandoned. Baylock Consignment Services may then sell, donate, scrap, or otherwise dispose of the item to recover lot space and any unpaid storage or selling costs. Net proceeds, if any, remain available to the seller for 90 additional days and are then forfeited.
Disputes
We work in good faith and document everything in writing — intake invoice in, payout statement out. Disputes are governed by the laws of New York State and resolved in Livingston County.
Call (585) 245-2056 or text photos first. We don't accept walk-in drop-offs — every intake needs a written invoice on file before the item leaves your truck.
